Claudia Carrasco presents 'Underwater'
Inauguration: Monday 07/09/09, 7.30 pm. Until 15/09/09.
Claudia Carrasco presents the fifth exhibition of the third edition of the Bursaries for Investigation in Design of the FAD Incubator. In "Bajo Agua" ("Underwater"), the designer brings together a series of objects inspired in the sea and the watery medium. As the author herself explains, "They are objects that transmit fluidity, that reflect transparency and communicate intangible things. As with water, these objects surround us and accompany our everyday lives, creating functional objects charged with personality. A show where the physical and the ethereal merge with subtle gestures that find their vehicle in the material and their depth in the shape".
The FAD Incubator is an initiative that boasts the collaboration of the Generalitat de Cataluña and Barcelona City Hall and which has the objectives of driving forward and fostering the culture of investigation in design, promoting emerging designers, connecting them with industry, and fostering design as a social value. In this 3rd edition, 94 projects have been submitted by young professionals from the fields of design, architecture, the arts and graphic communication from all over Catalonia. From among these, 12 have been selected to exhibit at the FAD Crypt and 8 have been chosen to develop investigation projects in design.
