Small editors, great books

«Small editors, great books » is an exhibition designed as a demonstration of people's strength. Applause for individuals, collectives, entrepreneurs, people with opinions who are committed, who share the need to express themselves and are constantly facing adversity.

The small publishers' scene is rich, diverse and has a great deal of capacity for resistance. The selection of the 101 companies present has been based on choosing those that have allowed us to create a representation of the various strategies they use to offer resistance in a scene dominated by the large corporations as well as to withstand the changes entailed by the digitalising process that the sector is undergoing.

Thus, in the present selection we find entrepreneurial attitudes and lengthy trajectories. We find values of resistance such as specialisation, the search for collaborative synergies and working on the web. We find debates on sustainability, new royalty licences and new book formats. This is all aimed at representing the variety of the current scene through books and viewing it as sufficiently open to value, in some cases, the design; in others, the content, and in the vast majority of them, both aspects.
