The chairwoman of the jury for the International FAD Awards will give a conference to discuss the creative process through her works.
The architect Carme Pinós, winner of the National Architecture Award 2021, is chairing the jury for the International FAD Awards 2022, the architecture prizes for works created around the world but designed by Spanish and Portuguese architects. On the occasion of the prize-giving ceremony, Pinós will give a conference in which she will speak of the creative process in the way she designs, through some of her most representative projects.
After graduating in architecture and urban planning from the Higher Technical School of Architecture of Barcelona, she founded a studio with Enric Miralles, with whom she gained international recognition with projects such as the Igualada Cemetery, which won the FAD Award for Architecture. In 1991 she set up her own architecture practice, where she has undertaken a broad range of projects encompassing from urban reforms and public works to furniture design, winning numerous international recognitions.
Prominent among recent projects is the complex in Barcelona’s historic centre that includes Plaza de la Gardunya, the Massana Art School and the back façade of the Boqueria Market; the apartment building on Vienna’s WU Campus; the Generalitat de Cataluña Tortosa branch and the Cube I and Cube II office towers in Guadalajara.
In 2012 she launched a collection of products designed, produced and marketed by her own studio under the Objects brand. In 2016 she won the Delta Award for Industrial Design for the Mallorca tiles.
