We will reflect on how artisan practices are currently innovating and how they coexist across the creative processes of different disciplines. We will learn about cases of professional creators and young artisans who innovate in the different aspects of their creations, seeking to understand the current status of this sector and how it coexists with and feeds off traditional crafts.
The session is organized by the Generalitat de Catalunya government – Artesania Catalunya; with the curatorship of the FAD Association of Artists and Artisans (A-FAD); the coordination of the Federation of Artisan Trade Associations of Catalonia (FAAOC); and the collaboration of the Artists’ Assembly Platform of Catalonia (PAAC).

Mònica Rodríguez. Business mentor, educator, author and speaker specializing in Slow Business, founder of Empresas Creadoras, Creative Enterprises.
Coudre. Research studio founded in 2017 by Raúl Nieves, Jude Serena and Valeria Ustarez and based in Barcelona. It conducts in-depth investigations into the intersections of digital design and the morphogenic contingencies of materials.
Idoia Cuesta. Creator in textiles and creative artisan specializing in basketwork. She has been recognized with the National Crafts Award. She researches new materials and their application in different techniques where their use is not commonplace.
