(Català) El City to City ha reconegut centenars de projectes internacionals, grans i petits, que han aconseguit millorar la vida quotidiana a les seves ciutats. El 2018 aborda el binomi «Aigua i ciutat» amb l’objectiu de generar un seguit de reflexions al voltant d’aquest element fonamental per a la vida humana.
The City to City 2018 addresses the binomial “Water and City” with the goal of generating reflections around this element, fundamental for human life and inherent in the very birth of civilization and urban settlements. The central acts of this seventh edition will take place on November 20 and 21:
20/11 at 7pm
Conference and round table “No City Without Water” featuring the driving forces or leaders of the winning projects, which stood out for the solutions they put forward for living with water in cities, at a time when it is more necessary than ever to rethink the responsible use of this.
21/11 at 6.30pm
Barcelona City Hall, Saló de Cròniques
Presentation ceremony of the seventh edition of this award promoted by the FAD with the collaboration of Barcelona City Hall. Prior to the presentation, an inaugural address will be given by Yayo Herrero, anthropologist, engineer, professor and eco-feminist activist.
This year we were looking for different projects around the world that spark the debate and provide new solutions and points of view regarding the access, use and management of water in cities, at a time in our history where it is more necessary than ever to rethink our relationship with this essential resource. 95 projectes were proposed for a nomination.

Today, more than half of the world’s population lives in cities and therefore finding solutions to the great challenges posed by urban life is a fundamental task for our future. That is why City to City Barcelona FAD Award was born in 2008, with the goal of tracking, rewarding and connecting initiatives from all over the world that contribute to the improvement of life in urban territories.
