Muskin is a “skin” derived from Phellinus ellipsoideus, a type of fungus that is sliced and processed in a similar way to animal skin, though with a totally natural treatment. Even though its resistance to tearing is limited, it can be used for creating all kinds of three-dimensional surfaces and objects characterized by its particular texture, halfway between velvet and cork. Some of its specific fields of application: hats, bags, watch straps, inner soles in footwear, leather lining, etc. You will find this material at the «Neomatter» exhibition until 19 May at Artesania Catalunya.
